HOBBIES: WATCHING MOVIES

Why do I watch Movies?               During my free time, I watch movies as a form of recreational activity. Obviously, I don't want to spend most of my time being stressed in academics. I want to relieve my anxieties and stresses so that I wouldn't go crazy. You could say that this is a healthy coping mechanism. FAVORITE MOVIES:  * Little Women (2019)     This movie is about the life of 4 sisters named Jo March, Amy March, Beth March, and Meg March. They represent different women archetypes. This is a movie adaptation from a book written by Louisa May Alcott.  * Interstellar     I like this movie because this is educational. This movie is a science fiction about a father who is an astronaut who traveled in different planets in search of a livable one to save the humanity. He has a daughter named Murphy who discovered the gravitational anomalies. In the end, it is fascinating that this movie was able to show th...

HOBBIES: WRITING

Why and to whom do I write?      I’ve been writing pieces since I was in 7 th  grade, considering that I am opinionated and outspoken. I write because this is my way of expressing my emotions and sentiments that I couldn’t tell or show anyone. Through writing, I cope with the feelings that I couldn’t repress or contain.      Whenever I write, I feel relieved and free. It is better to write down your ideas or imaginations rather than share it with anyone who will not understand me at all.      When I was in junior high school, I have taken an interest in poetry. I wrote spoken poetries and poems for people I share memories with. One of the silliest things I have done in my high school life is that I wrote literary pieces for the guys I ended up having failed relationships.       I almost even finished a book that I wrote about some guy I loved in 2019. Turns out, I was not able to continue that story because the...

HOBBIES: READING BOOKS

WHY DO I READ?   Whenever I'm bored, one of my favorite pastimes is reading books. Not only it satisfies me or entertains me, but I also tend to grasp new vocabulary and learn to adapt sentence constructions which are helpful in my grammar skills. I remember what Stephen King said in his interview, "You cannot write what you don't read". This is why I'm developing my writing skills by reading various materials.      Reading makes me learn new concepts and ideas. It benefits me to expand and sharpen my knowledge, necessary for me to apply this in problem-solving, formulating opinions, and constructing criticisms.      As a leader, I, myself, also read for the sake of improving my people skills because I believe that a true leader values books. In order for me to govern the people around me, I need first to develop myself. By reading a book, one develops a hobby or discipline. Finishing a book could be one of the simplest achievement, that anyone ...
